ANNOUNCEMENTS

IEC Community Announcements

“The IEC of Orlando unequivocally denounces the recent acts of terrorism throughout the world that have shattered the lives of countless innocent people. These savage and despicable attacks on civilians, whether they occur in Paris, Beirut or any other city, are outrageous and without justification. Such abhorrent acts of violence are in clear violation of the basic teachings of Islam. We condemn these horrific crimes in the strongest terms possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of those killed and injured and with all of France. The perpetrators of these heinous attacks must be apprehended and brought to justice.

IEC has consistently and repeatedly condemned all acts of terrorism wherever they have occurred.”

IEC Declaration Against ISIL

Why don’t we hear Muslims condemning the barbarian ISIS (ISIL) terrorists?

It turns out Muslims are loudly condemning ISIS (ISIL) … but the North American and European press organizations are not covering it.

Shia Marja’s (religious leaders: Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hoseyni Khamenei , Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, and other Muslim leaders) throughout the world have condemned the actions of ISIL and have called for the Muslim to be active in the fight against this group and others like it. Their condemnation is published on their websites and in their speeches.

The Head Shia leaders in Iran, Iraq and Lebanon have all spoken openly and firmly against ISIS (ISIL) in their Friday Prayer lectures, on their country’s radio and TV stations and on their websites. They have declared the actions of ISIL un-Islamic. Their speeches can be found on PressTV, their countries local news media, and Live Station. The press in North America and Europe have chosen not to cover their declarations nor to report on the Muslims that are actively fighting ISIL on a daily bases. They chose not to show the pictures of Muslims fighting and dying in their attempt to stop the spread of ISIL and groups like it.

Iraq’s Shia religious leaders called on citizens to take up weapons and defend their country from the ISIL, who have seized huge swathes of Iraqi land. The Muslim leaders of Iran, Iraq and Lebanon are all calling for the destruction of ISIL throughout the region.

(June 2014) In a statement delivered at Friday prayers in Karbala, one of the holiest cities for Iraq’s Shias, a representative for the country’s premier Shia cleric said it was “the legal and national responsibility of whoever can hold a weapon, to hold it to defend the country, the citizens and the holy sites” from the Al-Qaeda-inspired fighters of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Sheik Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaie, speaking on behalf of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, said volunteer gunmen “must fill the gaps within the security forces to fight ISIL”. He addressed all Iraqis — not just Shias.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) – the largest Muslim group in the U.S. – called ISIS un-Islamic and morally repugnant,” noted that the Islamic State’s “human rights abuses on the ground are well-documented,” called the Islamic State “both un-Islamic and morally repugnant” and called the killing of American journalist James Foley “gruesome and barbaric”.

The most explicit condemnation came from Iyad Ameen Madani, the Secretary General for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the group representing 57 countries, and 1.4 billion Muslims. 100 Sunni and Shiite religious leaders from the U.K. produced a video denouncing the Islamic State, saying they wanted to “come together to emphasize the importance of unity in the UK and to decree ISIS as an illegitimate, vicious group who do not represent Islam in any way.”

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) – the largest Muslim organization on the continent – released a statement denouncing the Islamic State “for its attacks on Iraq’s religious minorities and the destruction of their places of worship.” ISNA President Imam Mohamed Magid said, “ISIS actions against religious minorities in Iraq violate the Quranic teaching, ‘Let there be no compulsion in religion’ … ” adding, “Their actions are to be denounced and are in no way representative of what Islam actually teaches.” INSA condemned the vicious execution of Foley at the hands of the terrorist group ISIS, terming it as “un-Islamic behavior”, and said:

“ISIS actions have never been representative nor in accordance to the mainstream teachings of Islam. This act of murder cannot be justified according to the faith practiced by over 1.6 billion people.”

The IEC of Florida also clearly adds their condemnation of ISIL and groups like ISIL. To label the barbaric actions of ISIL as “Islamic” is a display of ones lack of knowledge of what Islam is.

How can anyone label the killing of humans and the destruction of property and life, an act of God. Islam does not allow these barbaric actions. _____________________________________________________________________________

The Killing of three Muslim Students in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 2015

The IEC of Florida is mourning the shooting deaths of Deah Barakat (23 years of age), his wife, Yusor Ali-Salfra (21 years of age) and her sister, Razar Abu-Salha (19 years of age). The killing of these Muslim students in North Carolina, Chapel Hill is unacceptable. These three victims were all exceptional role models, students and human beings. They practiced their Islamic faith without fear. We thank them for being who they were. They were active in assisting with dental care to the poor children in Palestine, assisted with treatment in a Syrian children’s refugee camp, just to name a few of the accomplishments they had in their very short lives.

Please view these sites for more information, , and to express your support to their family and friends, do supplication/prayers for them.
